Today it is common for users having to log in several times to be able to access a certain application. With AppGate you can avoid additional loggins for easier access to information.

AppGate provides the possibility for strong authentication and therefore take away the need for additional logins by:
  • Transporting login information into applications behind the AppGate Server.
  • It is possible to develop solutions on non standard applications (third party development).
The AppGate server can recognise and vary between different ways of authenticate to the system. If a user for example uses password as authentication method, he may only be able to reach his e-mails, but when connecting using a stronger method he might be able to reach more sensitive data.

Today it is common for users having to log on several times to be able to access a certain application. First logging on to the VPN system, then again to be able to reach a specific application. Using the strong security and intelligence of the AppGate server, additional logins are often unnecessary. The AppGate server can be used to block unauthorized access to applications and in that way diminish the need of passwords and too many logins. This means, when the user connects remotely, he only has to authenticate himself once.

Sometimes there is a need for login information to be entered into an application. For these certain types of applications the AppGate server also can transport login information to the back end application.

The single-sign-on functionality enhances the user experience of an advanced security solution and at the same time making it easier to manage – taking down time for both support and maintance.

A healthcare institution had lots of different internal systems that the users needed to logon to every morning. Users found it cumbersome to remembering all different passwords and authentication methods.

After placing all their internal systems behind an AppGate server, they logon to the AppGate system with a certificate instead of passwords. The AppGate then logs the user on to the rest of the recourses they are allowed to access. This does not only give them single sign-on, it also integrates perfectly to their central PKI-system.
