AppGate Network Security announces new Board of Directors following new capital funding from Eqvitec Partners.

AppGate Network Security AB, a leading provider of network security solutions has announced the appointment of five new members to its Board of Directors. This follows a recent announcement of SEK25 million capital funding from Eqvitec Partners, one of the leading private and independent venture capital firms in the Nordic countries.
Newly appointed to the Board of Directors are Thomas Nygren, Chairman at Hamilton Advokatbyrå, who will serve as chairman of the board, Lars Carlson, Mats Dahlin, Tomas Julin and Einar Lindquist, Eqvitec Senior Advisor.

Thomas Nygren (Chairman)
Thomas is partner and chairman at Hamilton Advokatbyrå, one of Sweden's largest commercial law-firms. Thomas is also in charge of the law-firm's technology law group. In addition to his engagement in the law-firm, he is active as an investor in various technology start-ups.
Lars Carlson
Lars’ most recent position was with Berik Capital which he co-founded. Prior to that he held leading positions within NCC Real Estate, Posten Financial Services, Matteus Fondkommission and ABG Sundal Collier where, as a partner, he developed the firm’s corporate finance operations in Sweden. Today he is engaged as an active investor in various technology companies.
Mats Dahlin
Since June 2005 Mats has worked as an advisor to venture capital and private equity companies. He is Chairman and Board Member for several companies, coach to management teams and an investor. He started his career at Ericsson in 1980, where he held a number of key positions across marketplaces ranging from Asia to the Americas. In 1998, he was appointed Executive Vice President for the Group, President of Ericsson Radio Systems AB and Head of Business Segment Network Operators. In 2000, he headed up the Mobile Systems Division, and was then appointed Head of Market Area EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). In 2004, he became President for Ericsson Enterprise AB and was responsible for the company’s global operations, including development and implementation of a new worldwide enterprise strategy.
Tomas Julin
Tomas’ background is in telecommunication. Over the last fifteen years he has held senior international management and board positions (non-exec Board Director, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer) for companies including Ericsson, COMVIQ, Tele2, Unisource, Peak Traffic, Mobile Systems International, and Celtel International B.V. With this hands-on experience, he has a comprehensive knowledge of issues such as corporate governance, recruitment, financial management, marketing and leadership for various types of organisations and multicultural environments.
Einar Lindquist
Einar Lindquist has 20 years of telecom experience and is a well known player in Sweden and around the world within Telecom and IT. He has held several senior management positions in Sweden, Hungary and the USA. Prior to joining Eqvitec Einar has headed Ericsson’s Wireline Division (17.000 employees) and Ericsson’s Wireless System Division (40.000 employees), and was part of the Ericsson Executive Team for 3 years. Most recently he was the CEO of Visual Wireless.
