The AppGate Security Server product family
AppGate unifies all the necessary security elements such as authentication, authorization, encryption, access control, client control, monitoring and reporting. All this to make it possible for you to take your mind off security issues and focus on the work at hand.
AppGate security server is an access control product that protects corporate services from unauthorized access. The access control is based on user access.
Since the protection of corporate services are based on user access, not device access, the user may use any device to connect work at any time. The user can use a computer at the company, a PC from home, a laptop from anywhere in the world with an internet connection, or a mobile phone anywhere in the world with mobile phone connections.
The AppGate server is placed between the company servers and all user devices. The communication between the user device and the AppGate server is encrypted. Every user have to be granted permissions from the company to use what they need to work. When a user has logged in all the applications needed to work is visible. All other applications and resources the user are not granted permission to use, is not visible to the user, and not possible for the user to access. The management of the AppGate server is easily performed in one point.
Available servers
The AppGate Security Server is available in a number of different configurations. In addition to the server a number of add-on options area available to further enhance the capabilities of the solution.
AppGate Security Server AX1 - Small to midsize business solution
AppGate Security Server AX2 - Midsize business solution
AppGate Security Server Ax4 - Enterprise solution
AppGate Security Server A10 - Carrier class solution
Add-on options
Clustering option - Enables the use of multiple AppGate Security Servers for redundancy or scalability purposes.
SSL option - Enable client-less access from any https capable web browser.
Cluster license option - When redundancy or very large scale is required the AppGate Security Servers can be clustered.
ICE license option - In Case of Emergency licensing is a disaster recovery solution.
USB clients - These are specially prepared USB sticks which enables you to temporarily turn any PC into a secure workstation.
Device Firewall Option - Enables control of Device Firewalls from the AppGate Security Server
Secure Instant Messaging (free add-on option) - An integrated instant messaging solution where you can both be sure of who you are communicating with and of the integrity of the communications.
SMS two factor authentication - If the user authenticates with the correct password he instantly receives an SMS to the registered mobile with an additional one-time password.

Clients - Clients are required for connecting to an AppGate Security Server except if you are connecting via the SSL add-on option. Clients can be freely downloaded from the AppGate Security Server you are connecting to. Supported platforms include Windows, MacOSX, Linux, Solaris, Windows Mobile, Symbian S60 (Nokia smart phones) and Symbian UIQ3 (Sony Ericsson smart phones).
