The new models focus on high throughput and flexibility and will benefit customers that are looking to deploy AppGate systems to improve on internal security or have a large number of simultaneous users.

To reflect this change the models in the product line will now be called Security Server A1, for the entry level, Security Server A2 for the mid range and A4 for the dual CPU, high throughput model.
AppGate today supports installations from one-server systems with 25 concurrent users up to the world largest SSL/SSH VPN installation with 25 000 concurrent users and 72 servers.
All solutions are rack-mountable and occupy only one rack-unit (1U) and the number specifies the relative performance. In environments with extreme demands, all models can also be clustered for redundancy and increased performance.
Technical Specifications
- Security Server A1 comes with two 10/100 Ethernet ports, 1 GB RAM and is powered by one 550MHz UltraSPARC IIi processor, suitable for remote access or internal protection in simple network topologies.
- Security Server A2 comes with four (optionally eight) 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, 1 GB RAM and is powered by one 1GHz UltraSPARC IIIi processor, suitable for remote access or internal protection in complex network topologies.
- Security Server A4 comes with four (optionally eight) 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports 2 GB RAM and is powered by two 1GHz UltraSPARC IIIi processors. This model can handle complex topologies with many users and high load.
