Solaris 10 has an improved IP stack that gives a substantial increase in networking performance and should give even higher reliability. The AppGate client can also check and, if needed, modify Internet Explorer's proxy settings if it conflicts with connections with the secure network. The AppGate IP tunnelling driver, a functionality in AppGate that allows workstations to have complete network access regardless of what protocols being used, can now also acquire IP addresses through DHCP for simplified client configuration.

Due to its high security, the Solaris 10 platform will also be the platform that certified versions of the AppGate security server will run upon.
