Familjebostäder is a part of the Stockholms Stadshus AB group and is one of three largest housing enterprises in the City of Stockholm. Dimesion Data and Familjebostäder chose AppGate Mobile Security Server to give controlled access to information like e-mail and intranet, using smartphones. With AppGate installed in their mobile phones, technicians can easily receive new tasks and report back to head office, on site, and in a secure manner.

All communication is encrypted and the user communicates directly with the server inside the organisation. This means that Familjebostäder is in control of the communication the whole way from the mobile phone to the internal protected network.

With AppGate Familjebostäder could continue to work with the Outlook client in the mobile phone, which was appreciated since they are used to using the Microsoft system. They also did not need to open up for new channels in the firewall or make any large adjustments in existing infrastructure.

The smartphones that are using within Familjebostäder today are Qtek (S100 and 2020) and Sony Ericsson (P900 and 910).
