AppGate Networks Security adds Nokia Communicator as a supported client for secure access to e-mail and intranet.

August 11, 2005
Stockholm, Sweden

AppGate Network Security, the leader in Mobile Application Gateways and Secure Access technology has added Nokia Communicator as one of the supported smart phones to its current range of clients for secure remote access. This gives the user of a Nokia Communicator the potential to reach Intranet, e-mail servers and other applications, without compromising the security. The difference between the AppGate solution and many other so called Mobile Systems is that the user is not limited to just e-mails, the full network can be accessed.

AppGate today supports a wide range of mobile phones and PDAs for secure access without making it difficult for the users. AppGates commitment to the wireless market can be seen in the unique set of functionality that AppGate provides:
  • AppGate Mobile VPN roaming
  • Supports almost any authentication method such as RSA SecurID, Cryptocard, RADIUS or password
  • Gives instant access to intranet and e-mails in a secure way
  • The traffic gets compressed which saves valuable bandwidth and cost for the users
  • Support for applications such as Citrix and SAP
  • Can be connected to LDAP and AD servers
AppGate was recently awarded a prize from the Jericho Forum for its solutions for deperimeterisation of networks. This prize reinforces that AppGate is a leader in security, challenging many of the old world security vendors,
