Empowering Governments to Knock Out Cybercriminals

AppGate, the first Common Criteria certified Software-Defined Perimeter, delivers a robust security platform to help government agencies buy confidently and help achieve their mission.

The AppGate Federal Group is delivering a powerful one-two punch to help agencies fight cybercriminals.

AppGate SDP, the first and only Software-Defined Perimeter to achieve Common Criteria (CC) certification, has been added to the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Continuous Diagnosis and Mitigation Program’s (CDM) Approved Products List (APL) and is available through the CDM contract vehicle.

One: Rigorous Testing and Third-Party Validation

With so many security companies and products on the market, it can be difficult for government agencies to find reputable and high-quality software that not only provides a high level of security but that is itself secure. Recently, AppGate SDP underwent rigorous testing and validation to become the first and only Software-Defined Perimeter to achieve CC certification. This certification serves to give agencies the peace of mind that their software vendor and the software being delivered follow development security best practices. This is the first part of the powerful one-two combination.

Two: Approved and Available

Government agencies are held to a higher security standard; part of ensuring this standard is purchasing solutions that have been vetted and approved by DHS and the CDM. AppGate SDP has satisfied the product qualification process and is now listed on the DHS APL and available through the CDM contracting vehicle.

The CDM Program enhances the overall security posture of the Federal Government. CDM accomplishes this by working with agencies to ensure that commercial, off-the-shelf tools on agency networks that provide enterprise-wide visibility to the five W’s on their networks (who, what, when, where, why) and more importantly, control access into and throughout the network to their data.

AppGate SDP adheres to the newly published NIST Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) guidance document and is on the approved list published by the CDM program team at DHS. The goal of CDM is to provide security solutions that allow agencies to design an approach that fits their needs and that are approved for use throughout federal, state, and local government agencies.

This powerful one-two combination makes it easier for federal, state, local, regional, and tribal governments to seek internal approvals, secure budget, and streamline the purchasing process. The ease of acquisition delivers the final knockout to mission adversaries. Securing network access with a certified and approved Software-Defined Perimeter helps agencies rapidly protect against cyber criminals seeking to disrupt or delay their mission.
