Former Cyxtera Exec Leo Taddeo Named Appgate CISO, Federal Arm President

Leo Taddeo, formerly the chief information security officer of Cyxtera, has been named CISO of Appgate and president of its federal division.

As CISO, he will lead global security operations, business continuity and crisis management functions of Appgate, which spun out of Cyxtera in 2020, the Miami-based secure access company said Monday.

The newly appointed division president will also work with sales and technical officers to provide zero trust security products that meet the requirements of federal agencies. Taddeo will draw from his experience gained from previously serving as the president of Cyxtera’s federal unit.

He will report to Appgate CEO Barry Field.

Taddeo is also a former FBI special agent who led the cyber division of the agency’s New York office. He oversaw more than 400 agents and support personnel assigned to cyber investigations, information technology, crisis management and surveillance.

His FBI career also includes international operations spanning the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
